Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
1. Introduction
Daily Ledger is a personal finance management application developed by Nagabyte. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Daily Ledger application and related services. We are committed to being transparent about the data we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have concerning your information.
2. Information We Collect
When you use Daily Ledger, we collect and process different categories of information depending on the features you use. This includes information you directly provide to us, authentication information, and technical information collected automatically by the application or third-party services.
3. Financial Information
Daily Ledger is designed to help you keep track of your financial records. When you use the application, you may choose to input and store financial information, which may include:
- Income and expense amounts
- Transaction descriptions and dates
- Custom categorization of your transactions
- Account balances or names as configured by you within the app
Daily Ledger functions as a financial record-keeping tool. It does not connect directly to your bank accounts, and we do not act as a financial institution.
4. Google Sign-In
You may choose to authenticate your account using Google Sign-In. When you log in with Google, we receive basic profile information required to authenticate you and maintain your account, specifically your email address and profile name. We do not request access to your private Google data such as Gmail, Google Photos, or your Calendar.
5. Google Drive Backup
Daily Ledger provides a feature allowing you to voluntarily back up your financial records to your personal Google Drive account. When you utilize this feature:
- The backup file containing your Daily Ledger data is stored securely in your Google Drive.
- The application uses the Google Drive API solely to read and write your specific Daily Ledger backup files.
- Nagabyte does not have access to these backup files on your Google Drive.
- You maintain full control over these backups and can delete them at any time directly through your Google Drive interface.
6. Local Backup
You may choose to export backups of your financial records locally to your device storage. This backup contains the data you have entered into the application. Local backup files utilize standard encryption methods to protect your data at rest on your device. However, these backups are not password protected. You are responsible for the physical security of your device and managing the backup files stored on it.
7. Notifications
Daily Ledger uses local notifications to provide you with application features such as transaction reminders. The application will request your permission before sending notifications. You can manage or disable notification permissions at any time through your device's operating system settings.
8. Advertising
Daily Ledger uses Google AdMob to display advertisements within the application. AdMob and related Google services may collect and process certain device identifiers and interaction data to provide advertising and measurement services. This processing is governed by Google's policies and your applicable device advertising settings.
For detailed information on how Google processes this data, please review Google's Privacy Policy.
9. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services to provide specific functionalities within Daily Ledger:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Sign-In | Account Authentication | View Policy |
| Google Drive API | User-selected Cloud Backups | View Policy |
| Google AdMob | Advertising Services | View Policy |
10. Data Storage and Retention
Your financial records are stored locally on your device to ensure quick access and privacy. If you create an account, basic authentication information is stored securely on our servers. We retain your account data only for as long as your account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, your authentication data and any associated cloud-stored records will be removed from our active systems.
Please note that data you have voluntarily backed up to your device storage or Google Drive will remain under your control and must be deleted manually by you.
11. Data and Account Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time. To initiate an account deletion request, please visit our Account Deletion page for detailed instructions. Once a deletion request is processed, your account profile and any financial data stored on our servers will be permanently removed.
12. Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to help protect your information. This includes utilizing standard encryption for local backups, securing network communications with HTTPS/TLS, and relying on established authentication providers (like Google) rather than storing sensitive passwords directly.
13. Children's Privacy
Daily Ledger is a financial management tool intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will reflect the date of the most recent modifications.
